10:00-11:00 | block #6
Sustainability-led mindset

Can a change of thinking bring about positive changes? We are increasingly aware that a sustainable approach to designing and running a business is crucial to meet global climate challenges. Strengthening these attitudes in each of us can be essential for the good of our planet. The growing awareness of stakeholders means that business involvement in sustainable development is not only expected but even necessary.

Sustainable Design Mindset | Weronika Rochacka Gagliardi (DESIGN PROVISION, Design strategist and co-founder), Magda Kochanowska (DESIGN PROVISION, Service designer and co-founder)

The strongest motivation for designers is to positively impact the surrounding reality. Promoting this way of thinking and acting can help raise ecological awareness and increase concern for the planet.

How to develop leaders of sustainable transformation? | Anna Chodzińska (Mindvue, Founder and Principal Consultant)

What makes the leaders become pioneers of sustainable transformation and have the motivation to boldly shape a competitive business while thinking about the well-being of people and the planet as a whole? It is a unique set of values, attitudes and ways of thinking about the world and relations. It is Sustainability Mindset that each of us can build.

sustainable change implementation challenges and opportunities from the perspective of SMEs

How to identify challenges and potential in implementing "green" changes in small and medium-sized enterprises? How to redefine the offer in the search for new user groups based on the circular economy principles? Take the entrepreneurs' and consumers' perspectives while searching for value in sustainable change and the entire product life cycle. Learn tips on how to effectively manage cooperation between design and business to create innovation based on sustainability. Learn how thinking about the whole system of products, components, and services can help you take full advantage of their available value.

It’s not all rainbows and unicorns. Challenges for SMEs in implementing sustainable change | Natalia Kacprzyk (Tenka, Co-founder), Kuba August (Tenka, Co-founder)

How to identify tensions between the design world focused on sustainable development and the daily operations of small and medium-sized enterprises?

Product (re)discovery | Krzysztof Bogomaz (Ergodesign, Innovation Director), Katarzyna Śliwa (Ergodesign, CEO), Łukasz Jagodziński (JKB Group, Founder & CEO)

Let's go through the process of discovering and designing a model of operation and an offer that fits into the assumptions of the circular economy and consumer expectations. Let's analyze a case study of cooperation between the consulting and design company Ergodesign and its client – a manufacturer who is a pioneer in implementing the assumptions of the circular economy in its business.

Challenges of transformation

What does an organisation's path to sustainable development look like? We will see how such paths can differ by analysing two case studies. A bold transformation towards sustainable practices achieved substantial success in one of the cases, inspiring others internationally. In another, an initiative that, despite its ambition and innovative approach, faced challenges on its path to sustainable development. We will learn that sustainability pathways cannot be standardised and require flexibility, adaptability, relentlessness and determination. Regardless of their current stage, both cases will serve as valuable examples, demonstrating different aspects of this dynamic process.

How to successfully transform a family business? | Aleksandra Michnicka (RESORT agency & Resort Studio content house, CEO) Jakub Serafin (Magda Roślinna, Creative Director)

This is a unique story about the power of values in business. About the transformation of a traditional business into a sustainable one on the example of a Polish company from the food industry.

Is there room for circularity in the Polish fashion industry? | Paulina Kulik (Circular Tex Hub, Co-founder & Partnership Manager)

Case study of the first Polish initiative combining second-hand fabric fairs and circular fashion with a competition and a discussion panel.

Speed networking. Facilitated activity where participants engage in a series of short, timed interactions to quickly exchange information and establish connections with multiple Summit participants.

14:00-14:50 | block #9
Human relations with the product and artificial intelligence.

How to create relationships between the product and the user, artificial intelligence and the human? How can these relationships translate into sustainable market value and social and ecological responsibility? As part of this block, we will reflect on building brands based on design ethics for longevity investigating how and why it is worth implementing products that users can emotionally connect with. Furthermore, we will examine how to strengthen awareness of the potential risks and benefits of the development of Artificial Intelligence. We will see how these relationships affect the natural environment and the social fabric.

REgenerative Artificial Intelligence | Joanna Murzyn (Digital Ecology Institute, Chief Vision Architect)

Can AI models take on social and ecological responsibility for their further development? How can we contribute to strengthening ethical standards in our relationship with Artificial Intelligence?

Designing for longevity | Weronika Politowicz (Studio Politowicz, Multidisciplinary Designer & Founder)

How to create a product-user relationship and turn it into a sustainable market value? Bialetti coffee makers, pottery from Bolesławiec, your grandma’s ring, a Rolls-Royce and a wicker basket from Nowy Tomyśl. All these products have in common their functionality, timelessness and cultural and emotional value.  These features make them universal and, therefore, more sustainable than seemingly revealing innovations.
